richard prince

Richard Prince originally born in Panama, moved to Massachusetts and became an artist. His most famous work Cowboys is a series of rephotography, where he would take trimmings of old advertisements and rephotograph them with little to limited manipulation of the image, so that they could be his. The Cowboy series is an appropriation of Marlboro ads. His work has displayed the all the things that are representative of stereotypical images of a cowboy, and later has suggested what it really means to be a man in todays society.
